This recipe has become a family favourite and the starter of all our tomato pasta dishes. Serve over any variety of cooked gluten free pastas.
Gluten Free Spaghetti Sauce {Customizable}
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 3 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 ½ cups chopped tomatoes or 2 15oz cans of chopped tomatoes
- 2 cups white mushrooms chopped
- 5-6 fresh basil leaves chopped
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet on medium heat
- Put in 1 teaspoon of olive oil with onion & garlic
- Cook until cooked through or becomes translucent
- Add dried oregano, chopped tomatoes and remaining olive oil.
- Stir all together and continue on medium heat for about 10-15 minutes or until tomatoes break down into a sauce.
- Add chopped mushrooms
- Cook for another 5-10 minutes
- Add fresh basil right before serving
- Serve with your favourite gluten free noodle

Take your gluten free pasta sauce to the next level using fresh sprigs of basil, thyme or oregano versus dried options. Although fresh herbs pop a bit more, dried herbs and spices will work just as well.
