The Heart of Gluten Free Living in Barrie
For those living with Celiac Disease or gluten sensitivity, the phrase dedicated facility is more than just a label, it is peace of mind. Around My Gluten Free Table (AMGFT), located in the heart of Barrie, Ontario, stands as a beacon of safety and culinary excellence. Founded by Chef Laurie Rosanelli, this shop was the first 100% gluten free food destination in Barrie, born from a personal mission to ensure that a gluten free lifestyle never feels like a compromise.
A Culinary Haven: From Breads to Bistro Meals
Walking into Around My Gluten Free Table is an experience in itself. Unlike traditional bakeries where those on a restricted diet must cautiously scan labels, every single item in this shop is safe to eat for Celiac Disease. The aroma of freshly baked bread and sweet treats fills the air, a scent many in the gluten free community rarely get to enjoy without worry.
The selection is vast and meticulously crafted. Their bakery counter features everything from crusty artisanal breads and soft buns to indulgent sweets like their famous “Morning Glory” muffins, tarts (lemon, almond, and butter), and decadent squares. If you’re looking for a celebration, their custom cakes, ranging from classic chocolate to rich red velvet, have earned a reputation for being indistinguishable from their gluten-filled counterparts.

Home-Style Comfort, Ready to Heat
What truly sets AMGFT apart is its focus on prepared meals. Chef Laurie recognizes that the hardest part of a gluten free diet isn’t just finding a snack; it’s finding a convenient, nutritious dinner after a long day. The freezer and fridge sections are stocked with Italian-inspired classics and Canadian comfort foods:
- Savoury Gluten Free Pies: Flaky chicken pot pies and rich beef pies.
- Italian Staples: Lasagna, ravioli, cannelloni, and manicotti made with authentic family-inspired recipes.
- Unique Finds: Savoury perogies and cabbage rolls that bring traditional flavours back to the table for those who thought they’d never eat them again.
The “One-Stop” Gluten Free Grocery Experience
Beyond the fresh-baked goods, AMGFT serves as a specialized grocery market. They stock a curated selection of hard-to-find gluten free pantry staples, sauces, and snacks. Whether you need a specific gluten free flour blend for your own baking or are looking for a new favourite cereal, the grocery section is designed to round out your kitchen with high-quality, vetted products.

Uncompromising Safety Standards
Safety is the cornerstone of the business. As a 100% dedicated gluten free facility, there is zero risk of cross-contamination from shared ovens or utensils. Chef Laurie uses a variety of nutrient-dense flours, including almond, quinoa, millet, and sorghum, ensuring that the food isn’t just safe, but also flavourful and satisfying.
For the Celiac Disease community in Simcoe County, this shop is more than a bakery; it is a community hub where shopping for gluten free feels normal again.

My friend absolutely adored their squares. I think they may become a book club regular.
Best gluten free desserts I’ve ever had. You can’t even tell it’s not gluten. 10/10 would buy here even when I don’t need gluten free products
Aside from all the delicious food Around My Gluten-Free Table makes, Laurie did my wedding cake and absolutely exceeded my expectations! It was stunning and SO delicious!! Highly recommended! Thank you Laurie!!
I don’t think I’ve EVER had better gluten-free pastries. The brownie was so rich and flavourful (so hard to find gluten-free) croissant was 10/10 and the loaves were freshly baked. Being gf for 16 years, I’ve tried a lot of places, but this bakery tops all it is phenomenal. I have yet to find a fresher, better-tasting bakery. Couldn’t recommend it enough, I’ll be back for sure!!!
I always try to stop in on my way to the cottage to get some ravioli or tortellini as well as croissants and arancini, plus some goodies (obviously!). Everything is always delicious and my husband who isn’t celiac loves it all!
Killer shepherd’s pie, just rich enough and great texture.
I suggest the lasagna should be in the oven longer than instructed for better structure, but overall good ingredients.
I’ll be back!
What a treat. I live gluten-free and to be able to feed a little urge for classics like baked goods or a chicken pot pie is just wonderful. And they are sooo friendly ☺️
The fact that this places exist makes it a five star already. Lovely staff and owner, lots of parking and lots of offerings including diary free!
